루벤스는 1622-25년에 그린 <대리로 혼인 받은 마리 드 메디치와 앙리 4세> 작품에서, 피레오 알도브란디니 신부가 잡혀들어오고 있는 거대한 교회 웅장한 분위기가 그려져 있으며, 대리로 혼인해주는 신부의 삼촌인 토스카나 대공 페르디난도가 그림 속에서 신부의 손가락에 반지를 끼우고 있다. 이 혼례식은 1600년 10월 5일 피렌체 대성당에서 진행되었으며, 프랑스 국왕 앙리 4세가 자신의 혼인식에 참석하지 못하였기 때문에 토스카나 대공이 혼인식을 대리하였다.
